FIELD: physics; communications.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to compensation for external cross noise at the near end (NEXT) and, more specifically, to compensation for external cross noise for neighbouring standalone connectors (connecting devices) for an unshielded twisted pair (UTP). The result is achieved due to that, a connector is presented for compensating for cross noise with respect to a neighbouring connector. Each connector includes a printed circuit board, a set pf contact pairs on the printed circuit board, a set of contact pads at the ends of the printed circuit board for compensating for cross noise and a set of connecting elements for electrical connection of contact pads with contact pairs.

EFFECT: reduction or compensation for levels of external near end cross noise in neighbouring connectors to minimal or acceptable levels (for example, levels which conform to requirements for a 10 gigabyte Ethernet) without need for shielding these connections from each other.
