The method involves registration of at least one user equipment by a service provider, where after transmission of information on possible media for transmitting data between at least one user equipment and service provider, the information is then stored. The method involves sending an additional request for a data transmission session with at least one user equipment and using the stored information when establishing the requested data transmission session. Also provided are a communication system, application server and user equipment, configured for corresponding operation.
