FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: trial body of a spherical shape made out of the same material as a test specimen is brought to contact with surface of the test specimen. The trial body is brought perpendicular to surface of the test specimen and is pressed to it with a controlled force, then the trial body is withdrawn back; force of interaction and distance between the test specimen and the trial body are measured simultaneously with advance-retract. Surface power of the test specimen is estimated by difference of specific works spent for bringing and withdrawing of the trial body to its surface. The facility consists of a torsion balance equipped with a beam with a detector of a zero position connected to a device of electromagnetic balancing. The trial spherical body is installed on the working part of the beam; the test specimen is situated under the trial body and is designed to vertically travel under control; the device is additionally equipped with a block facilitating record of dependence of forces interacting between the trial body and the test specimen within space between them; the block is connected to a computer with a processor to determine difference of specific works at advance-retract of the trial body to surface of the test specimen.
EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of measurements.
