FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. The method relates to biotesting toxicity of natural, sewage water and aqueous solutions using such test-organisms as entomostracans (daphnids, ceriodaphnia, moina etc). The invention can be used in environmental monitoring through rapid determination of toxicity of natural and sewage water, as well as aqueous solutions. The method involves determination of death rate of entomostracans in samples of the tested water in the presence of feed, placed in containers in a controlled climate for 48 hours. During the experiment, containers with water and the test-organisms are placed in a holder in an inclined position and the holder is rotated at 5-10 rpm.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity and reduced labour input of the process of biotesting water using entomostracans.
