FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry and for protecting the atmosphere from gas emissions. The method of removing CO2 from a gas stream involves reaction with an organic composition and subsequent regeneration of a CO2-saturated solution. The composition contains a piperazine derivative with concentration of at least 3.0 equivalent/kg water, potassium salt with concentration of at least 1.0 equivalent/kg water, and water. The ratio of alkaline salt equivalents to piperazine derivative equivalents ranges from 0.3 to 3.0. The said composition does not contain monoatomic or polyatomic alcohol.
EFFECT: efficient removal of CO2 from gas streams, lower costs on purification due to high concentration and volume of absorbing solution.
