FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for purifying synthesis gas. Method includes the following steps: a) a step of dividing the synthesis gas into at least a first and a second stream of the same composition synthesis gas, b1) a step of converting the carbon monoxide in the vapour of the first stream of synthesis gas from step a), b2) a step for removing acid gases, such as H2S, COS and CO2, from the gas stream leaving step b1), by bringing said effluent into contact with an aqueous solution of amines; c1) a step for catalytic hydrolysis of COS and HCN present in the second synthesis gas stream not subjected to the carbon monoxide vapour conversion reaction; c2) a step for removing acid gases, such as H2S and CO2, from the synthesis gas stream from step c1) for catalytic hydrolysis of COS and HCN by contacting said stream with an aqueous amine solution containing at least one tertiary amine; d) recombining at least a portion of the gas streams coming from steps b2) and c2) to produce purified synthesis gas.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the degradation of solvents consisting of aqueous solutions of amines, as well as in reducing the frequency of replacement of solvents and in improving the process performance and processability while reducing the flow of solvents necessary to remove acid gases.
