FIELD: chemical or physical processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new nitrogen-containing compounds belonging to a family of polyamines, to versions of the method of producing nitrogen-containing compounds and use thereof in a method for selective removal of H2S from a gas stream. Nitrogen-containing compound has formula (I) given below, in which n denotes an integer ranging from 0 to 30, R1 corresponds to formula (g1)–(g4), R2 corresponds to formula (g5)

in which R6 denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R7 denotes an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical, containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, radicals R6 and R7 can be connected to each other with a covalent bond or a heteroatom, forming heterocycle with 5, 6, 7 and 8 atoms, wherein R6 is not a hydrogen atom. When n equals 0, radicals R6 and R7 are interconnected to form a piperazine ring, in which case R2 corresponds to formula (g6). Nitrogen-containing compound is obtained by reacting a polyether and piperazine diglycidyl ether. Method for selective removal of H2S from a gas stream containing H2S and CO2 involves a step for absorbing acidic compounds by contacting a gas stream with an absorbent solution. Absorbent solution contains (a) water, (b) at least one basic nitrogen-containing compound, containing at least one tertiary amino group or secondary amino group containing two secondary carbon atoms in positions α and α' nitrogen atom or at least one tertiary carbon atom in position α or β nitrogen atom, and (c) at least one nitrogen-containing compound.

EFFECT: invention enables to selectively remove H2S from a gas stream containing H2S and CO2.
