FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotary electroslag casting of bulky parts of piping accessories, in preference, T-branches for connection of pipes. Mould contains main shape-generating cavity and communicating to it cavity, shaping branch of T-branch. On external surface of foundry goods, opposite to branch, it is formed shear drag, which balances weight of melt, forming branch. Melt is poured into main shape-generating of mould, rotating around vertical axis, passing through cavity. Shear drag is calculated from condition of placement of axis of mass of casting on pivot pin. Casted blanks allows high quality, dimensions, close to dimensions of finished detail, and formed passage openings.
EFFECT: there is reduced metal consumption, reduced labour coefficient of details manufacturing.
