FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electroslag casting of tubular billets from iron-carbon alloys for strength members to be used in machine building, oil and gas and petrochemical industries and power production. In compliance with proposed method, consumable electrodes are remelted in thermal module wherein liquid metal is accumulated and thermostated for it to be poured via outlet by locking gear into crystalliser with piercing point bar arranged above thermal module.
EFFECT: increase in smelt rate, reduced power consumption, expanded performances of thin-wall tubular billets.
