FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method aims at revealing prefault operating conditions and early stages of abnormal operating condition development by noise and vibration. It comprises using various noise and vibration pickups top control noise and vibration generated by every locomotive controlled unit and comparing recorded data with designed ratings memorised by electric locomotive microprocessor control system. In case noise and vibration tolerances are exceeds, electric locomotive microprocessor control system downs the efficiency of the equipment or cuts it off completely, along with generation of audio and video alarm.

EFFECT: possibility to reveal prefault operating conditions.
