FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to appliances designed to check up coefficient of adhesion between wheels and road covering and can be used in investigating road accidents and abnormal aircraft landing conditions. Proposed device comprises trailer with measuring wheels fitted on two semi-axles to run thereon, wheel rpm metres with their outputs connected to recording unit input, braking system representing an electromagnetic powder coupling. The latter has its rotating element coupled with measuring wheel semi-axle and its magnetisation coil mounted on aforesaid trailer and connected with aforesaid recording unit. Proposed wheel differs from known designs in that a shaft is linked to measuring wheel semi-axle to support torque transducer connected with rotary element of aforesaid electromagnetic powder coupling, and that the signal from torque transducer is sent to aforesaid recording unit.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and validity of adhesion estimation.
