FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to switch apparatuses and serves to protect DC and AC circuits against over loads and short-circuit conditions. Proposed method comprises switching on proposed apparatus with the help of electromagnetic mechanism which, with apparatus contacts being closed, is switched over by interlock contacts, over from cut-in current to holding switched on contacts in ON state. It comprises also holding said contacts in ON state with the help of magnetic latch continuously switched to holding current. Proposed method differs from known techniques in that cut-in current is fed to said magnetic latch, and, after delay circuit operation, holding current is fed thereto.
EFFECT: higher stability and reliability, fast operation, reduced weight and sizes.
