FUEL ELEMENT COOLING SYSTEM AND METHOD Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H01M8/04

Abstract RU 2379794 C1

FIELD: heating systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to fuel element cooling system and method. According to invention, system (100) for cooling fuel element is equipped with main channel (102) for cooling medium and bypass channel (104) for cooling medium, which is located parallel to main channel (102) for cooling medium and discharges cooling medium passing through channels for cooling medium. In main channel (102) for cooling medium there installed is heater (110) and circulation pump WP (130) and the like devices. Cooling medium is supplied from main channel (102) for cooling medium to bypass channel (104) for cooling medium and reaches second heat exchanger (120) through housing of motor (50) of air compressor (ASR) 48, etc. In second heat exchanger (120) there performed is heat exchange with channel (80) for feed gas; after that, cooling medium returns to main channel (102) for cooling medium. The method by means of which the cooling medium is distributed can vary depending on the fact where cooling medium is discharged from main channel (102) for cooling medium and location of circulation pump (130).

EFFECT: simplifying the design, effective use of cooling medium, coordinated control of cooling system of fuel elements battery and the other heat exchange system of cooling system of fuel element.
