SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radio receivers. The receiver with direct down conversion has a direct current circuit for removing direct current biasing from signal components, a variable-gain digital amplifier (VGDA) to provide the range of amplification factors, an automatic gain-regulating circuit (AGRC) for regulating gain of the variable-gain digital amplifier and radio-frequency (RF)/analogue circuits and a serial bus interface unit for transmitting control signals to the RF/analogue circuits through the serial bus. The mode of operation of the automatic gain-regulating circuit can be selected based on the mode of operation of the direct current circuit since these two circuits interact with each other. The time interval during which the direct current circuit operates in detection mode can be selected inversely proportional to the bandwidth of the direct current circuit in detection mode. Control signals for all RF/analogue circuits can be transmitted through the serial bus.
