FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method includes cooling of strip in intermill gaps at the top and bottom by water jets along strip width in finishing group of mills and further cooling of strip with water at collecting roller table. Efficient control of rolled metal thickness and geometry is provided by the fact that supply of cooling water jets in the last but one intermill gap is executed towards direction of strip motion at the angle to its surface with the possibility to control value of angle and to direct jets, besides value of water jets inclination angle towards upper surface of strip is always less than value of jets inclination angle to its lower surface, and in the first half of collecting roller table along with strip motion, it is cooled from top by freely falling water flow, and at the bottom - by water jets under pressure, which are directed at the angle to surface of strip with the possibility to control value of angle and direction of jets.
EFFECT: production of rolled sheet metal with specified dimensions, geometry and mechanical properties.
