FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to ship repair, particularly to estimation of the state of ship hull structural elements. Proposed method comprises using tools, gages and breadboards. Residual strain is preliminary estimated. Errors inherent in these defects are analysed using a notable volume of statistical data and with due allowance for limiting error in definition of said statistical error with respect to sag, goffering, buckles. This error makes 6 mm, while, in respect to sag of dent, said error makes 20 mm. Note here that to make estimation and error more precise, gages and breadboards are used, while instrumental measurements of damaged structures are effected at values that, with errors allowed for, approximate to tolerances or exceed them.
EFFECT: simplified measurements in ship repair.
