FIELD: operation and repair of water transport facilities.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of operation of ships and ship trains includes analysis of state of structures and hydrodynamic characteristics of ships. Proposed method includes preventive maintenance jobs, such as cleaning, filling with putty and painting. Roughness parameters are restored. Proposed method includes repair jobs, such as dressing and application of sheets, elimination of residual deformation in form of corrugations and bulges in shell plating. In forming the ship trains, ships possessing worse hydrodynamic characteristics are positioned behind and/or in between of ships possessing better hydrodynamic characteristics.
EFFECT: optimal operation of ships.
