SUBSTANCE: exhaust gas containing volatile organic compound is fed into an adsorber. The volatile organic compound adsorbed into the adsorbent is then desorbed from the adsorbent using water vapour, and mixed with water vapour. The mixture of water vapour and the volatile organic compound in the surrounding medium which is under high pressure is fed into a combustion apparatus for its combustion with a combustion gas.
EFFECT: invention makes a volatile organic compound harmless and increases energy efficiency of equipment when there is need to treat a volatile organic compound.
