FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of processing oxidation reaction wastes gases and extracting power therefrom. Waste gas obtained in production of terephthalic acid by liquid-phase oxidation of paraxylene using acetic acid in the presence of metal catalyst containing cobalt and manganese as well as brome as a promoter at 185-205°C and oxygen-containing gas, is subjected to cooling and separation after condensation of condensing components at high pressure. Then, wet cleaning of waste gas is performed in high-pressure absorption columns using acetic acid and water as absorbent, and concentration contained therein is decreased. Now, said waste gas is directed into adsorption column for moisture dehydration. After heating by steam to 140 - 150°C, obtained waste gas is directed into two-stage turbines for extraction of gas pressure power.
EFFECT: reduced emission of waste heat and contaminants, ease of removal and extraction of organic components.
