FIELD: ecology, microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention aims at estimating contamination of atmospheric air with toxic substances, for example carbon sulphide, nitrogen oxides or metal organic compounds. Proposed biosensor comprises portable metal flask representing an angle piece with its vertical part making a flask handle. Angle piece work horizontal surface has a seat to accommodate a fragment of solid culture medium with immobilised culture of gene-modified luminous bacterium Escherichia coli B-5356 (H 101/pUC7 lux 37). Aforesaid flask is placed into square flask compartment of luminometre. Displacement of test sample independently of said luminometre allows measuring toxicity in remote zones and using standard safety procedures in handling gene-modified bacteria.
