FIELD: physics; acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of a string acoustic musical instrument. The string acoustic musical instrument has a housing with bottom, side and top plates with an inner resonant volume with the same geometry of the housing. The housing has one or more sound holes, a string-holder and a bridge fitted on the top plate. At least part of the inner resonant volume of the housing is divided into sections with unequal volumes on the number of registers and the bridge is made with as many supports as the number of sections. Each of the supports is on a given section of the top plate for directed transmission of string oscillations of different registers to sections of corresponding size.
EFFECT: improved sounding parametres, increased speed and spread area of sound.
