FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device allows the measurement of angular velocity or angular position in rotational axis. It comprises at least one circular optical resonator 1, solid state reinforcing body 2 and transducer 6. These are arranged so that first propagating linearly polarised mode and second linearly polarised mode propagating perpendicular to first one can propagate in first direction in resonator. Third linearly polarised mode propagating parallel with first mode and fourth linearly polarised mode propagating parallel with second mode can propagate in opposite direction in resonator. Reinforcing body is composed of symmetric cubic crystal sliced so that inlet and outlet faces are perpendicular to crystal direction <100> and that different modes propagate in directions perpendicular to said faces.
EFFECT: stability of measured signals.
