FIELD: physics; radio.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used for searching and detecting objects with nonlinear electrical properties. The said result is achieved by generating a long duration phase-code-keyed radio-frequency pulse by coupling M>1 partial radio-frequency pulses of a probing signal at carrier frequency f0, with the same amplitude u0, same duration τ0 at a limited number P>1 of distinct possible values of the initial phase of oscillation φi where emission thereof in the probed spatial region and by processing the echo signal from a target in a matched filter with a pulse characteristic which is a mirror of the intrapulse phase keying function of the generated probing phase-code-keyed radio-frequency pulse. Also the value of the initial phase φi of each of the M partial radio-frequency pulses of the generated probing phase-code-keyed radio-frequency pulse is reduced by n times, where is the harmonic number of the probing signal, and the echo signal from the object with nonlinear electrical properties is received at the frequency of the n-th harmonic of the probing signal.
EFFECT: improved range resolving power and range of nonlinear radar station.
