FIELD: physics; radio.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio imaging and can be used for detecting objects in the millimetre wavelength range under a person's clothes, in customs inspection of cargo, in remote probing of the earth's surface and in security systems working under poor visibility conditions. The proposed method involves modulation of radiation of all elements of an object, focused by a fixed antenna in the object plane, using functions with different parametres for each element. The said radiation simultaneously reaches a detector whose output signal is split into components using a defined algorithm, where the components correspond to intensity of radiation of the elements of the object, values of which are used to construct its optical image. The method is realised by a device consisting of a fixed antenna, a disc modulators of the radiation of the elements placed in the object plane of the antenna, a horn made with possibility of rotating about the axis of the disc, serving for receiving and transmitting modulated radiation to the input of the detector, a pulse generator for transmitting clock pulses and a computer for processing signals.

EFFECT: simple design of radio imaging system and cutting on image formation time.
