FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining coordinates of an object observed inside the main lobe of the instrument function of a fixed lens involves irradiating the object with electromagnetic radiation, receiving the reflected radiation, converting the reflected radiation to an electrical signal and mathematical processing of the signal in order to calculate coordinates of the object. Five sources of electromagnetic oscillations, having initial phases which are controlled according to specific laws, which are powered by one generator, are spaced apart at different distances, are connected in series in pairs and irradiate the object. Radiation reflected by the object is received by a fixed lens and converted to electrical signals, changes of which determine coordinates of the object.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of an object lying inside the main lobe of fixed sources and a lens.
