SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for providing access to content through different sites of defined audiences. A web-content management server enables creation, control and publication of versions of objects from a parent object. The version object is created as a copy of the corresponding parent object and can then be modified. Each object includes a list of pages which identifies all associated objects and types of content of each object included in the list of pages. The interrelationship between parent objects and version objects is maintained independent of location where the objects are stored. When changes are made on the parent page, the changes are also applied to any of the corresponding version pages. The parent object tracks any corresponding version objects using an identifier stored in the list of pages. When the parent page changes, a sequence of actions is initiated for modifying corresponding version pages, defined by the identifier and type of content in the list of pages.
