FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to light engineering, and namely to light sources intended for usual and decorative illumination, for being used as indicators, including image display devices and for other purposes requiring use of light emission. Cathode-luminescent light source includes cathode and anode, which have cylindrical and hemispherical parts integrated for each of electrodes in a whole entity. Cathode is made in the form of electrically conducting bottom having coating made from material having autoelectronic emission property. Radii of cylindrical and hemispherical parts coincide for each of electrodes separately. At that, radii of anode and cathode are chosen so that when voltage is supplied between them intensity of electric field can be provided on cathode surface, which is enough to obtain autoelectronic emission.
EFFECT: simplifying fabrication, providing the possibility for producing higher light intensity, and manufacture of light sources of big size.
