FIELD: optical radiation sources for lighting and/or shaping pictures by means of various displays.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cathodoluminescence light source has field-effect cathode that functions as electron source, anode with specular light reflecting surface, and cathode-ray phosphor applied to specular light-reflecting surface of anode. Cathode and anode are disposed in evacuated case that has transparent surface so as to provide for irradiation of cathode phosphor on anode surface with electron beam and for escape of cathodoluminescence-caused light flux outside; anode surface has semi-cylindrical or close to cylindrical shape; cathode is made in the form of filament and is disposed, in effect, on longitudinal axis of anode. Case can be made in the form of sphere and anode surface may have hemispherical or close to hemispherical shape; cathode can be made in the form of spike and is disposed, in effect, in center of anode.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of electrical energy-to-light conversion, simplified design, facilitated manufacture of lamps.
