SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of preparing drilling fluid and can be used when drilling oil and gas wells. The method of preparing drilling fluid involves mixing an aqueous mixture of mud powder, addition of a filtrate agent from polysaccharide classes - CMC or starch. The obtained mixture is subjected to mechanical activation using a disintegrator with two discs rotating about an axis in opposite directions, fitted with beater pins. The discs rotate at a rate of 10000-12000 rpm.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of filtrate agent from polysaccharide classes - carboxamethyl cellulose - CMC and starch.
