FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of preparing drilling fluids and can be used in drilling oil and gas wells. In the method of preparing drilling fluid, involving stirring an aqueous mixture of mud powder, the aqueous mixture of mud powder is subjected to mechanochemical activation using a disintegrator with two discs rotating about an axis in opposite directions which are fitted with beaters. The discs rotate at 15000-18000 rpm.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of clay materials when preparing drilling fluid.
