FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: in projection of pupil centre shallow fissure is formed, nucleus is turned on 90°, fixed with spatula and displaced towards phacoemulsificator. Perpendicular to first fissure semi-fissure is cut not reaching nucleus edges. Manipulation is repeated until pink reflex appears, permanently holding nucleus with spatula. Spatula is introduced into space between posterior capsule and nucleus, filled with visityl, nucleus is broken as semi-fissures go. Phacoemulsification of fragments is carried out.
EFFECT: method allows to eliminate necessity of pupil dilation, to carry out all manipulations in pupil projection under surgeon's visual control, eliminate pressure on ligamentous apparatus and capsule sac during nucleus fragmentation and phacoemulsification of fragments, preserve weakened Zinn's ligaments and sphincter of pupil.
