SUBSTANCE: method of playing back data from a recording medium using local memory comprises steps on which an association block is read from local memory, a virtual file structure is created through an association operation, and playing back data contained on the recording medium. The association block is associated with a specific recording medium and is a set of files stored in the local memory. The association operation is carried out using association information which determines location of a specific file in the virtual file structure. The device for playing back data from a recording medium has a head module for reading initial data of the recording medium, local memory for storing additional data and a controller for creating a virtual file system. Additional data are associated with initial data. The controller creates a virtual file structure by using association information which determines the position in which a specific file contained in the association block is placed in the virtual file structure.
EFFECT: possibility of simultaneous playback of data received/stored from the Internet and data recorded on a recording medium using a virtual file structure.
