SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building. Cutter comprises rotary cylindrical helical cutting knife and drive shaft. Under helical knives there are shearing curvilinear elements arranged, which envelope it along outer diametre. Fingers of shearing elements have pitch, which is not equal to pitch of knife turns. Additionally cutter has enveloping elements along inner diametre of knife.

EFFECT: knife turns move between outer and inner enveloping elements, which provides for reliable cutting of plants.
