FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method of preparing a cermet by mixing aluminium powder with iron or cobalt with subsequent mechanical activation of the composite powder. The obtained powder is mixed with powdered aluminium oxide and/or hydroxide or with a product of thermo-chemical activation of hydrargillite in a centrifugal flash reactor, or with products from its treatment based on hydrated aluminium compounds, poured into a die mould, subjected to hydrothermal treatment, dried and calcined. The obtained cermet contains an alloy of aluminium and cobalt, aluminium oxide and cobalt oxides or contains iron, an alloy of aluminium and iron, aluminium oxide or iron oxides. Strength of the cermet ranges from 5 to 92 MPa.
EFFECT: high specific surface of the metal carrier, high fire resistance and thermal shock resistance.
