FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to implementation of conversion layers on metallic surface. Conversion method by carboxylation of metallic surface in conditions of metal oxidation by means of interaction of surface to water or water-organic pool, containing mixture of organic acids which are saturated linear carboxylic acids, containing from 10 to 18 atoms of carbon, mentioned mixture is two-component or three-component mixture of such acids. Contingents if these acids is for two-component mixture x ± 5% - y ± 5%, where x and y are corresponding amounts of two acids in mixture of eutectic composition, in molar %, for three-component mixture x ± 3% - y ± 3% - z ± 3%, where x, y and z are corresponding amounts of three acids of eutectic composition, in molar %, and concentration of mentioned pool exceeds o equal to 20 g/l.

EFFECT: invention is directed to improvement of friction properties of sublubricating layer during mechanical treatment and providing of temporary protection against corrosion.
