FIELD: test engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine building and can implemented for assessment of quality of gearing in mechanical transmissions. The method of assessment of degree of wear of tooth gears consists in securing tested gear designed to travel freely on a shaft, in securing three sample gears identical to a tested, not worn gear on the shaft, also the sample gears with the tested gear form closed load bearing circuit; further, the method consists in recording rotation angles of the tested gear and operation gear conjugated to it during operation of the circuit; in comparing these angles and in assessment of degree and wear pattern of the tested gear by difference of angle values.
EFFECT: intensification of assessment of tooth gears wear degree, and upgraded reliability of obtained results.
