SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a data medium, first of all valuable document, such as banknote, identity card based on smart cards and similar, with substrate and connected to the substrate with a protective element, wherein the data medium contains created due to action of laser beams marking, which has when viewing through altered visual impression in comparison with the reflected light. According to the invention implies that marking is made with the first part of marking by at least one made due to action of laser beams holes in the substrate and is made with the second part of marking in the protective element due to modification section, on which the visual appearance of the protective element is modified by action of laser beams, and the section of modification of the second part marking is in colour register to the hole of the first part of the marking.
EFFECT: first part of marking or completely covered with protective element, or partially covered with protective element and partially located directly near the protective element.
