FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in chemical and motor industry. Device comprises motor 30 for depleted fuel mixture, which works on air with excess of oxygen. Catalyst 1 is placed into catalytic converter 3, where exhaust gas is supplied from motor 30. Catalyst 1 comprises Pd in amount of more than 3 wt % and Pt applied onto porous oxide, and does not contain adsorbing NOx material selected from alkaline and alkali-earth metals. Spray nozzle 32, through which low-friction oil is periodically supplied, is arranged in pipeline 31 of exhaust gas for temporary formation of atmosphere enriched with carbohydrates around catalyst 1. Catalyst 1 works in the range of low temperatures from 200°C to 300°C in alternately repeating depleted and enriched atmospheres.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of exhaust gases treatment from oxides of nitrogen in the range of low temperatures.
