FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cold start catalyst comprising a molecular sieve catalyst and a platinum group metal catalyst. Molecular sieve based catalyst essentially consists of palladium and a molecular sieve. Catalyst with applied platinum group metal contains one or more platinum group metals and one or more inorganic oxides. Invention also includes exhaust system containing catalyst for cold start, and method of processing exhaust gas of internal combustion engine, including use of catalyst for cold start.
EFFECT: effective NOx adsorption and hydrocarbons at low temperature of 200 °C or lower and conversion and release of adsorbed NOx and HC at temperatures above said low temperature.
