FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal deformation process and may be used to produce large-size semi-processed goods of aluminium or magnesium alloys used, for instance in aerospace, shipbuilding industry. Horizontal extrusion of stock is carried out, as well as at least one intermediate extrusion of it and further final horizontal extrusion with back pressure. Initial intermediate extrusion is carried out at the angle of 10-40° to axis of horizontal extrusion. Each subsequent intermediate extrusion is carried out at the angle of 100-160° to axis of previous intermediate extrusion. Intermediate extrusions are carried out with a drawing coefficient, which equals one.
EFFECT: improved plastic and strength properties of produced semi-processed product.
