FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: inventions may be used to machines for linear friction welding to produce welded structures of high-strength material in combination with minimum weight, in particular of titanium, for instance in aviation. Head of device includes three sets of orthogonal drives to form planes X, Y, Z of its displacement to provide for oscillation along axis Y, the first forging effort along the first axis of forging Z and the second forging effort along the second forging axis X. At oscillating block there is at least one drive fixed with a counteracting force along axis X for counteraction to the second forging effort. At least one movable cylinder with counteracting force along axis Z is fixed on oscillating block to counteract to the first forging effort. In compliance with the method, the first forging force of specified value is applied at the angle relative to the first surface of welded parts contact, and the second forging force is applied at the angle versus the second surface of welded parts contact.
EFFECT: inventions provide for simultaneous welding along more than one plane of contact with production of high-strength welded seams.
