FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to fabrication of structural element by hot forming with expansion. Structural element comprises base element of preset linear configuration including at least two sidewalls and space there between. At least one reinforcing element welded by linear friction welding to ay least two sidewalls so that said reinforcing element is located, at least partially, between said sidewalls, in said space.
EFFECT: enhanced performances, decreased susceptibility to shape variation at machining of application.
