FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device contains brake band with wear faces, brake pulley implemented in the form of segment parts with cavities filled by heat-carriers, heat-exchanger with the first and the second contours and cooling system of toroidal magnet. Cavities of brake pulley are filled by liquid helium. Cooling system of toroidal magnet is filled by liquid nitrogen. Systems are connected to each other additionally by means of the second countour of heat exchanger. Cooling method of friction pairs of belt-block brake is in that heat exchanger contour of belt-block brake cools liquid phase - nitrogen + helium, transforming it into gas-liquid mixture - gaseous helium + liquid nitrogen, assisting at rotation of block under action of centrifugal forces to return of liquid nitrogen into the second its cavity and cooling system of toroidal magnet.
EFFECT: there is achieved increasing of durability of friction pairs ensured by increasing of effectiveness of its forced cooling and effectiveness increase ensured by stability of performance.
