FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves superposition of the magnetosensitive axis (MSA) of the magnetometre with the axis of the direction of the Earth's magnetic field (EMF) induction, determination of the result of converting this value using the magnetometre and then determination of results of converting a series of additional sample values of magnetic induction at the input of the magnetometre, where the said sample values are generated due to the recorded turns of the magnetosensitive axis of the magnetometre about the axis of the direction of the Earth's magnetic field induction vector in the plane of rotation, passing through this axis. Before taking measurements, the magnetosensitive axis of the magnetometre is superposed with the direction of the Earth's magnetic field induction vector through rough initial setup of the magnetosensitive axis in the direction of the Earth's magnetic field induction vector and then by turning the magnetosensitive axis about its initial position by angles +90° and -90° in the same plane of rotation. Readings of the magnetometre at the respective turning angles are taken. If the readings are different, initial setup is corrected, as well as the procedures for turning and taking readings.
EFFECT: wider technical capabilities of the procedure of determining parametres of calibration characteristics of a magnetometre, which enables use of simple equipment.
