FIELD: medicine, life saving equipment.

SUBSTANCE: flame arrester is designed for suppressing fire or blast wave in gas piping and flammable fluid tanks. In the flame arrester cartridge comprising a case consisting of a base and a cover between which there is a cartridge fire isolation element, the base and the cover are interconnected by at least three fastening elements, the fire isolation element is arranged on a fastening lattice representing orthogonal rods arranged in an upper part of the base parallel to bearing flanges of the base and the cover, and attached to the base and the cover by two elastic tapes pulled together by the fastening elements; the fire isolation element is made of a waved and flat iron belts tightly rolled so that to form therein vertical thin passages wherethrough the flammable mixture passes freely; a wave is triangular, rectangular, square, trapezoid, sinusoid, and generated by radial arcs.

EFFECT: higher effectiveness on fire suppression.
