FIELD: fire-prevention facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for its installation on the equipment: on pipes for combustible gases discharge into atmosphere or to a flare (discharge flame arresters); on interconnections (communications flame arresters) and in front of the burners. It is also designed for protection of reservoirs with oil products against flame penetration from outside, however, they start widely using it also for protection of different process devices in chemical industry. The ceramic-metal flame arrester comprises a body. The body is made of the base and the cover, between which there is a flame-arresting element of cassette type. The base and the cover are connected to each other by means of fastening elements. The cover with the base are made in the form of support flanges, which are connected with truncated cones that expand to the place of their connection. The flame-arresting element is made in the form of a porous ceramic-metal plate. Channels of small diameter of the porous ceramic-metal plate are formed by porous metal ceramics or metal fibres. The ceramic-metal plate is produced by pressing and sintering of small metal balls or pieces of metal wire with diameter of 25-100 mcm.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of flame suppression.
