FIELD: fire-prevention facilities.
SUBSTANCE: device is designed for protection of tanks with petroleum products from penetrating the flame from outside, but they are beginning to be widely used for protection of different technological devices of the chemical industry as well. The fire prevention device of cassette type comprises a base and a cover, between which the fire prevention element of cassette type is located. The base and the cover are interconnected by the fasteners. The cover and the base are made in the form of support flanges in the form of truncated cones which are connected with expanding at the place of their connection. The fire prevention element is located on a fixing grid which is made in the form of mutually perpendicular rods. The grid is located in the upper part of the base, parallel to the support flanges. The rods are attached to the base and the cover by means of two elastic tapes contracted together by means of fastening elements which are tightened together by means of fasteners. The fire prevention device is made of corrugated and flat metal strips, tightly twisted in a roll in such a way that vertical narrow channels are formed there through which the inflammable mixture flows freely. The corrugation can be triangular, rectangular, square, trapezoidal, sinusoidal, and formed by circular arcs.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of fire suppression.
