Abstract RU 2386644 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polyol composition used in synthesis of flexible polyurethane foam, as well as to a method of preparing the said composition. The said composition has viscosity of 1500-25000 mPa·s at 25°C and contains fine-dispersed material in (polether)polyol, having equivalent weight of 500-5000 and average nominal hydroxyl functionality of 2-6, and in amount of 35-80 wt % in the entire polyol composition. The fine-dispersed material contains products of reacting polyol with equivalent weight of up to 400 and which is an alkanol-amine in which the alkanol groups have 2-6 carbon atoms and diphenylmethane diisocyanate and optionally homologues containing it, where the said homologues have isocyanate functionality equal to or greater than 3, and modified versions of such polyisocyanates. The fine-dispersed material has glass-transition temperature of at least 75°C, and at least 90 vol. % of the fine-dispersed material has particle size equal to or less than 10 mcm. The method of preparing the composition is realised in conditions with high shear agitation and temperature is kept below 150°C. Temperature is kept at least 10°C higher than glass-transition temperature Tc of the fine-dispersed material formed at the stage for emulsifying polyol with equivalent weight of up to 400, in (polyether)polyol with equivalent weight of 500-5000, at temperature 20-100°C and subsequent addition of polyisocyanate to the emulsion.

EFFECT: composition can be transported in more concentrated form, can be diluted onsite and foam plastic made from the composition have good refractory properties and are easy to chemically regenerate.
