FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, and namely to processes of steel making in converter. Method involves supply of liquid cast iron and scrap metal, slagging materials to converter, oxygen blowdown of molten metal from above through submersible tuyere, change of tuyere position during blowdown process above molten metal level in still state and oxygen flow. In addition, to the charge there introduced is iron-bearing derivative of dump slags with total iron content of not less than 85% in the ratio to the quantity of scrap metal of 2:1, and, in addition, compound of slagging materials uses coolers in the form of limestone and dolomite in the quantity depending on the cast iron flow, scrap metal flow, flow of iron-bearing derivative of dump slags, cast iron temperature, content of silica in cast iron, and steel temperature.
EFFECT: use of invention allows increasing cast iron flow at steel making, decreasing the waste of iron, and increasing yield ratio.
