FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used for generation of high-power nanosecond-duration SHF pulses with high repetition rate and stable parametres. Proposed switch comprises T-like H-junction box (1) made from round waveguide with half-wave short-circuited branch (2) accommodating short-circuiter (3), trigatron-type SHF switch including electric firing discharger (4) and discharge waveguide gap, and branch pipes (5) to blow off discharge gap mounted into branch walls at the distance of λw/4 from aforesaid short-circuiter (3), where λw if the wave length in waveguide, said branch pipes being connected to blow-off system pipelines. Branch box short-circuited branch (2) is made from round waveguide, while electric firing discharger (4) is located in one of branch pipes (5) fitted into outlets of dielectric tube (6) mounted all around waveguide at the distance of λw/4 from short-circuiter (3). Note here that the section of L=5λw/8-long short-circuited branch represents a section revolving about its axis to orient aforesaid tube relative to H-plane of branch box.
EFFECT: higher level of switched power and operating stability, possibility to control transition attenuation in "open" position.
